SilverFox – Privacy Policy

SilverFox collects only the personal data needed to sell, deliver and support its products, and does not sell personal data to anyone. This policy explains what we process and why, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we collect and why

We process the following data, on the legal bases set out in GDPR Article 6:

  • Orders, delivery and customer account: contact and delivery details, order history and payment status, to perform the contract.

  • VAT and accounting: invoices, company name and VAT ID, to meet our legal obligations.

  • Customer service, warranty and firmware updates: messages, product model, serial number and fault details, to perform the contract and based on our legitimate interest in supporting our products.

  • Website and cookies: IP address, device data and cookie identifiers, based on our legitimate interest for essential cookies and on your consent for analytics and marketing cookies.

We collect this data from you directly, from your use of the website, and from our payment and shipping providers about the status of your order. Providing order data is necessary to complete a purchase; other data is voluntary.

 

3. Who receives your data

We share data only with service providers working on our behalf, and with authorities where required by law:

  • Website and store: our webshop provider, and Exemptify for VAT ID checks.

  • Payments: the payment provider chosen at checkout.

  • Delivery: carriers and, for exports, customs authorities.

  • Email: Google Workspace / Gmail, for customer service.

  • Accounting: our accountant and the Finnish Tax Administration.

4. Transfers outside the EU/EEA

Some providers, such as our webshop provider and Google, may process data outside the EU/EEA, including in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. When we ship to a country outside the EU, delivery and customs data is necessarily sent to that country.

 

5. How long we keep data

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above: accounting records for 6 years as required by the Finnish Accounting Act, other order and support data for up to 3 years after the warranty or last contact, and account data until you delete the account.

 

6. Cookies

The website uses cookies that are necessary for the store and checkout to work. Analytics and marketing cookies are used only if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time in the cookie settings or in your browser.

7. SilverFox InControl app

The SilverFox InControl Android app does not collect personal data. It has no ads, no analytics and no user account. App settings are stored only on your device. Firmware files downloaded through the app are fetched without sending personal data to us. Google Play's own terms and privacy policy apply to downloading the app.

 

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • get a copy of your personal data and information on how it is processed;

  • have incorrect data corrected;

  • have data erased, unless we must keep it by law (for example accounting records);

  • restrict processing or object to processing based on our legitimate interest;

  • receive data you gave us in a machine-readable format (data portability);

  • withdraw consent to cookies at any time, without affecting earlier processing.

Send requests to info@silverfoxcontrollers.com. We reply within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.

 

9. Complaints

If you believe your data is processed unlawfully, please contact us first. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman in Finland (tietosuoja.fi) or to the data protection authority in your country of residence.

 

10. Security and changes

Data is stored in services protected by access control and encryption, and only people who need it for their work can access it. We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the current version.
