Kurviger is here, and they are here to “Maximize your riding time minimize planning stress”!
Kurviger gives a nice impression right away, as their focus is on motorcycle navigation! While many other applications will ask you to pick your “mode of transportation”, this is not needed in Kurviger!
Once again, this quick introduction/summary will be updated as we use the Kurviger app, with the SilverFox controllers, and gain more experience in the application operations. So far though, after just a short time of testing the route planning process, we’re looking forward to working with Kurviger while we’re on the road! Personally, I like the simplicity of the Kurviger set-up, which is the same look and feel both on the mobile device and the desktop. Make an account right away so you can save the desktop work to the folders provided (“Planned for the future” or “Marvelous routes” - easily renamed if desired). After the short introduction and a few minutes of “clicking around” to get the feel for things, it was simple to build a route on the desktop, save it, open it on the tablet, and you’re ready to go!
Naturally, Kurviger gives good options for the type of route you are building, from “fastest” to “extra curvy”. There is also the “Avoidances” option in order to avoid toll roads, ferries, motorways etc. On the same “planning bar”, click the three dots to the right in order to import a route, generate a round trip, or check out your route history. Looking forward to testing the “Generate a round trip” option in the future - for when I want to go for a ride, but I have nowhere to go!
Kurviger also provides offline maps option, just in case there are any connection issues, and is available on iOS also. When you connect the application to your SilverFox controller, Kurviger is a “function 1” navigation application.
Once again, stay tuned into the SilverFox “Nav Q&A” page for updates to this article as we learn more. The real “riding season” has kicked off in Finland, so we’re looking forward to being out on the road and testing all the different motorcycle navigation application options that are available – we’re pleased to say that we have our “work" cut out for us!
See you on the roads!
